After a three-year break, the annual Transport Seminar hosted by Wright Insurance Brokers returned for its 9th occasion, held in the Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney. With over 150 guests attending the event, this was one of the largest seminars to date.

The seminar took place in conjunction with the Irish Road Haulage Association’s (IRHA) 49th annual AGM and Conference. Wright Insurance Brokers were the main sponsors of the Friday evening, which included a business networking event and entertainment.

The topics of discussion at the seminar focused on key issues affecting the audience, composed of operators and stakeholders from within the transport and haulage industry.

In his opening remarks, Wright Insurance Brokers Director Tony Walsh welcomed guests and spoke about his commitment to providing first-class customer service and the longstanding association Wright Insurance Brokers has with the haulage and transport sector.

The seminar was moderated by well-known Broadcaster Anton Savage, with Economist and Podcaster Chris Johns as the guest speaker.

Chris presented an insightful discussion on global events that are reshaping Ireland’s economic outlook, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the conflict in Ukraine and the looming EU energy crisis. He also provided insight into how these global events would impact those operating in the transport and haulage industry.

Wright Insurance Brokers Director Jason Ryan closed the seminar by inviting guests to a post-networking event.

Tony Walsh said: “I was delighted to open the 2022 Transport Seminar. After a long three-year absence for everyone attending the event, it was an excellent opportunity to meet with our customers once again in a face-to-face environment. The seminar also gave a very informative overview of the current economic outlook, which was well received by the audience.”

Jason Ryan added: “Wright Insurance Brokers has established a reputation for highlighting issues that will impact the sector and ultimately our customers. This year’s seminar was no different, and we welcomed its return. The post-seminar networking event was also a great success, and we gleaned a lot of feedback from our customers, which will help us to better our service and solutions going forward.

“We are also proud to continue our long-standing partnership with the IRHA and already look forward to next year.”

The team at Wright Insurance Brokers would like to thank everyone who helped make the seminar a successful event.
